The EXTRACT consortium met in Geneva on 26-27 November 2024 to discuss advancements at the end of year two, to conduct internal training on project technologies and to plan key activities in the project’s final year.
The EXTRACT project is a three year EU-funded project that focuses on addressing extreme data challenges by exploiting the potential of the compute continuum (edge, cloud and HPC technologies). The consortium brings together a diverse group of experts that address different aspect of project technology, while also integrating the potential end users of the technology through the PER and TASKA use cases.
Given the different backgrounds and skills of the partners, internal training and collaboration has played a critical role in this project. The consortium has continually taken advantage of in-person meetings to include hands-on session to better understand the integration needs of the project technology and to address any obstacles.
In-person meeting provide an unparalleled opportunity for partners to collaborate and learn from each other.
The women in the EXTRACT project play an important role in different facets of the project. From left to right, project management (BSC), project sustainability (SIXSQ), compute continuum and EXTRACT platform prototype integration (BSC), communication and dissemination (BSC), TASKA use case (Observatoire de Paris), PER use case (data security) (MATHEMA).
This is the project’s fifth in-person meeting since the project’s inception. With a favorable mid-term review halfway through the project and several dissemination activities showcasing project results, we are confident that 2025 will help us reach our final goals and yield exciting results.
