As the EXTRACT project enters its final year, it is strengthened by a new collaboration with Ekinox, a French company specialized in creating high-value digital solutions for businesses by leveraging the power of AI and big data. By subcontracting specific TASKA use case activities, the project will gain access to the specialized expertise required to meet its ambitious objectives within tight timelines.
This relationship will foster close collaboration between the TASKA use case experts from the Astrophysics Laboratory on Space Studies and instrumentation (Laboratoire d’Études Spatiales et d’Instrumentation en Astrophysique- LESIA) at the Observatoire Paris, experts from the Nançay Radio Observatory (Observatoire de Radioastronomie de Nançay (ORN)), and Ekinox. The collaboration is designed to facilitate knowledge transfer and oversight, ensuring that the scientific goals of the EXTRACT project are fully met.
Key TASKA experts specializing in radio interferometry, data management and radio data processing, and machine learning and artificial intelligence will work closely with Ekinox to drive progress. Outputs from this collaboration, such as source code, ML training data, trained ML algorithms and documentation, will be made openly available and published and maintained in open data and software repositories, aligning with the project’s commitment to transparency and knowledge sharing. Ekinox will also provide invaluable training to the Observatoire de Paris team to ensure that the developed solutions can be reused and further developed, fostering sustainability and innovation beyond the project’s lifecycle.
