EXTRACT consortium gathers in Florence to strengthen collaboration and align on progress

Date: April 10, 2025

A three-day meeting brought together project partners for technical discussions, hands-on sessions, and strategic planning.

From April 1–3, the EXTRACT Project consortium gathered in Florence for a face-to-face meeting to review progress, align on the latest developments, and plan the final phase of the project.

EXTRACT, an EU-funded project, is building a cutting-edge distributed data-mining software platform designed to handle extreme data across the continuum. The project brings together a diverse consortium of experts covering various technological aspects, while also involving potential end users through two main use cases: PER and TASKA.

Given the multidisciplinary nature of the consortium, internal collaboration and training have been key components of the project’s success. In-person meetings like this one have been especially valuable, providing space for hands-on sessions focused on integration challenges and technical synergies.

As the project approaches its final phase, the Florence meeting offered an important opportunity for partners to share updates on the PER and TASKA use cases, address remaining challenges, and define the next steps. Discussions also turned toward the future—how to ensure the sustainability and exploitation of the project’s results beyond its official end.

The collaborative spirit of the meeting underscored the value of face-to-face interactions, especially at such a crucial stage in the project’s lifecycle.
