On 4 February 2026, the EXTRACT Personalized Evacuation Routing System use case will hold its final validation in Venice Ca’Corner. This validation will bring together key emergency stakeholders on the groups in Venice, together with technical experts from the project. This validation represents a follow up to the first validation, co-located within the “First Three Days: the First EXTRACT- Urban Resilience in Times of Crisis” event and implements recommendations and lessons learned from it.
This all-day event will aim to test EXTRACT project technology while simultaneously working to strengthen the bond between research, operational practice and public decision-making. Representatives from the EXTRACT project will be joined by a Venetian volunteer group (retired emergency service professionals) and local represenatives from the marine port, airport and MO.S.E administrations.
How will the PER Validation take place?
The validation will begin with an overview of the EXTRACT project and update report on the PER use case. Volunteers will then be briefed on their roles in the testing activities (route assignment, safety rules, use of devices, organization of working groups) and will then test the PER App. A debriefing will then be held to recieve feedback on usability and user experience and identify any outstanding issues.
In the afternoon technical discussions will be held between the different stakeholders to share data, experiences and institutional perspectives, concluding with final remarks and conclusions about the PER exercise, its impact and the importance of European projects for contributing to overaching European policy goals, like preparedness and digitalization.
The validation will serve as a methodological exercise of co-analysis and co-creation, aligning with well-established European concepts for risk evaluation and resiliency strengthening.
