Partner URV participated in the 9th International Workshop on Serverless Computing (WoSC9). This workshop brought together researchers and practitioners to discuss their experienes and thoughts on future directions for the field. More information on the workshop is available here.
URV presented its work on “Scaling a Variant Calling Genomics Pipeline with FaaS”, which discussed the importance of Cloud elasticity for scaling workloads using short-term resources. It also explained the benefits of going serverless, especially due to its advantages for effortlessly scaling highly-parallel workloads.
