The 51st International Conference on Very Large Data Bases, a leading annual forums for research, innovation, and best practices in data management and scalable data science, was held from 1-5 September 2025 in London, UK.
The conference brought together researchers, industry practitioners, system developers, vendors, and users, VLDB provides a platform for advancing both theoretical foundations and practical applications of database technologies. The conference addressed the full spectrum of data management challenges, with particular emphasis on large-scale systems, high-performance architectures, and emerging data-intensive applications.
On 2 September, EXTRACT results were presented as part of the research track on Cloud Data Management through a talk on “SkyStore:Cost-Optimized Object Storage Across Regions and Clouds”. The presentation counted with the participation of IBM and highlights the relevance of EXTRACT in supporting advanced, efficient data management solutions that meet the needs of modern distributed and multi-cloud computing environments.
